This is one of Nepal’s most famous treks, set amongst breath-taking high mountain scenery. The Everest region is certainly the world’s most glaring high mountain spot. Magnificent landscapes, imposing and prestigious peaks, tapering ridges and colorful villages contribute to turning this trek into an unforgettable experience. The itinerary leads through the high Khumbu Mountains – Sherpa country – before arriving at the foot of Everest. The Kala Pattar (5554m) ascent is one of the highlights of this trek and boasts an absolutely stunning summit panorama of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse & the dark Everest pyramid with the world’s highest mountain (8848 m).

I have visited Nepal and trekked few times, but this was my first experience with Off2holiday and Aakash as my guide. We trekked through the Everest region as a small group of 4, with the others continuing on from Dingboche while I turned back due to time constraints in my schedule.

Aakash is a professional through and through. He has an incredibly positive and happy disposition, and nothing was ever a problem. His pacing for the group was perfect as he allowed for those in the group who needed to move faster or slower to work at their own pace, whilst still maintaining safety and the sense of being part of a team. At the end of the days trekking, he was a great host and created a relaxing atmosphere where you felt well provided.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him as a guide, nor Off2holiday as the best trekking company in Kathmandu.

Off2holiday helped us getting a fantastic trek in the Everest region. The head guide, Laxman, was really experienced and service minded in every detail. He and the assistant guide, Santos, was there to help us all the time, answering all our questions and attending to every need we had.
Even though we had a defined route planned, they could reschedule bookings for us as we encountered difficulties with the height. Even the flight back from Lukla to Kathmandu was rescheduled after our requests, without any questions or hesitation.
As it was important to us to know that working conditions for the guides and porters was fair, we felt confidence that Off2holiday treated the staff good. It is of course hard to know for sure, but both the guides and porters were very talkative and we understood that they felt satisfied.
I would definitively go for another trek with Off2holiday, hopefully in a couple of years. But then we will probably go for Annapurna, which is said to be less hard than the Everest region… (If you go for Everest region, be prepared for ALOT of hill walking and have a couple of extra days for acclimatization. It is easy to get headache..
